Na, wenn ich Zack's Kernel-News im Linux-Magazin (auch irgendwo
online?) so lese, dann ist das aber lange Vergangenheit. Es wird/wurde
z.B. allgemein bedauert, dass Linus der Flaschenhals für
Kernel-Patches ist. Oder es wurde lange kritisiert, dass Linus auf
einem proprietären Versionsverwaltungssystem (BitKeeper) besteht. Oder
tief greifende Änderungen in Produktions-Kernel. Wenn ich mich recht
erinnere, dann verfolgt Linus wohl die Strategie: "Ich werde so lange
meine Linie durchsetzen, bis alle eingesehen haben, dass es die
richtige ist."
Klar kontrolliert er nicht die Leute - wie auch? Aber Linus hat schon
Vorstellungen, die er im Produkt auch durchsetzt. Gleichzeitig gibt es
parallele Kernel-Versionen von den Distributoren.
